The Rgvedaschool applauds the action of former United States Army Chaplain Chris Antal who resigned his duties in the United Stated Army. Reverend Antal is a minister for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern, New York, and a founder of the Hudson Valley chapter of Veterans for Peace.

He resigned his duties in the army in June of this year because he could no longer support the United States drone warfare program, the nuclear weapons program, the commitment of global supremacy, and impunity from international law.

The Rgvedaschool applauds the action because a main position of the Holy Teaching of the Supreme Absolute is not killing. This is a key point if one wants a taste of the Heavenly Nectar, and it means do not kill any creature living upon the same air we all breathe. Furthermore, since a follower of the teaching does not go towards another to hurt or kill, they go towards to help, to care for, and regard as a brother or sister.

A vegetarian diet is necessary if a person does not kill or support the killing of any breathing creature of the water, land, and air. Yes, such is the case, but we are very lucky, for the Creator has filled the earth with good things to eat and enjoy.

That is the outer part of the teaching; the inner part is mastering the meditations.

Here is a Verse from the Veda Calling for Peace.

To be kind and say prayers for those who strike and insult,

And please heaven with compassion on the earth.
